It’s not a stretch to imagine that Bonded By Blood are Exodus fans. There’s a tshirt in the photo, at the back. Drummer, Carlos Regalado and guitarist, Juan Juarez spill the thrash metal beans.
What was your highlight of 2008?
J: I think it would have to be the Barcelona Spain show that was part of the Thrashing Like A Maniac show with Gama Bomb and Sworn Amongst. It was called the Thrash em All Festival I believe. The crowd there was just amazing, loads drinking and pitting. It was one of the shows where we felt more at home because we understood everyone there, which was cool.
What’s the funniest tour story of 2008?
J: Funniest story was I think late at night after the Barcelona, Spain show. There was this like some sort of block party, loads of people there. We were all just hanging out there. Most of the time it was just everyone dancing, running around being stupid, well mainly Carlos my drummer and Paul drummer from Gama Bomb. They love to get together and dance, good times.
What’s the worst thing that happened to you in 2008?
C: All my damn driving tickets. Stupid pigs.
Who in 2008 deserves a good kicking?
C: Talita. [Earache Records press officer extraordinaire – Ed]
Who had the best comeback: Metallica, AC/DC, or Guns N’ Roses?
C: I honestly think that AC/DC never “fell” and neither did G’n’R. I think Metallica has not made any personal success since 1991. Then they came back with something they are finally proud of. That’s all that matters, so I am going to say Metallica.
What are you most looking forward to in 2009?
C: Touring and meeting some more kickass people!
What do you want for Christmas?
C: To fix my damn car.
Who do you want to get under the mistletoe?
C: A shot of Tequila! NO GARLIC SHOTS!
Where will you be on New Year’s Eve?
C: Hopefully somewhere with beer.
Bonded By Blood will probably be in Europe playing some festivals. They might record another album as well.
