Nine Inch Nails command internet to make tour video for them

Trent Reznor Thrash Hits

Well, not exactly. What Trent Reznor has done though is stick 450GB of raw HD footage from his band’s 2008 Lights In the Sky tour up for free download via bitTorrent, and suggested that fans take it away and edit it into something sexy and spectacular.

Of course, this isn’t the first, second, third or even fourth time that Nine Inch Nails have mobilised the internet with freebies. Last year the first half of their Ghosts I-IV was available as a free download alongside several paid-for deluxe editions, last year’s The Slip album was and still is available for free download. You can add to that their many remix projects and that Year Zero Alternative Reality Game thingy-ma-jig.
