Oh, to be young again. Drinking dangerous amounts of cider in fields, thinking that smoking was cool, and going seven shades of apeshit for any gig going – well, the few that would actually let us in when we were under 16. Which is why we’re quite pleased at the initial line-up announcements for the new London all-ages all-dayer, menacingly-titled Dark Days.
A collaborative effort between the good people at Metal Hammer, Epiphone and Visible Noise, Dark Days is picking up where Visible Noise’s legendary all-ages Subverse shows (which saw early performances by Bring Me The Horizon, Gallows, Bullet For My Valentine and Funeral For A Friend) left off. Except instead of being in the sweaty basement of the Camden Underworld, Dark Days is taking over the O2 Academy Islington and O2 Academy 2 Islington – that’s two massive rooms full of bands.
Speaking of which, the initial line-up announcements of Annotations Of An Autopsy, The Plight, Outcry Collective (that’s them pictured up there), Trigger The Bloodshed, Lower Than Atlantis, and Deaf Havana have got us plenty excited, and there’s still the prospect of the headliners to be announced. Crumbs.
