As we predicted earlier this week, Bruce “The Boss” Springsteen, has been confirmed as the Day 2 headliner for Hard Rock Calling, the retro-flavoured rock festival that takes over London’s Hyde Park to June 27-28. Backing him up will be bore-rock favourites, Dave Matthews Band, and Springsteen’s biggest fans, The Gaslight Anthem (whom we just interviewed – keep your eyes peeled for the results next week). That’s them up there in the picture.
Of course this got us wondering whether our other prediction from earlier in the week – that AC/DC would be headling the first night – is going to turn out to be bang on the money too. Hard Rock Calling falls the day after the Aussie rock gods’ Wembley Stadium date, and still gives them time to rock up to Glasgow for their Scottish arena date on June 30. Hmmm….
Of course, if AC/DC do confirm, it’ll be the best Hard Rock Calling in years (…ever?). If you fancy hedging your bets and getting tickets early doors, then you could do a lot worst than heading over to the Absolute Radio Ticket Store on Thursday morning, where tickets go on sale even before the official sales start. Sweet.
