
In addition to Nine Inch Nails and Airbourne joining the Sonisphere Festival bill (both of which you’d have heard about long before today’s official announcment, if you’ve been paying attention to Thrash Hits on Saturday and Sunday), this morning promoters have also announced the the mighty Anthrax and Killing Joke will also be on the bill.
Leaving aside from a moment that we’re excited enough about seeing ther original Killing Joke line-up – Jaz Colman’s band should be on everyone’s Bands-To-See-Before-You-Die list – but this means that Sonisphere Festival will be that this is the first UK event in years where there’ll be two of the Big 4 of thrash playing. Since the inaugural Sonisphere Festival takes place at Knebworth on August 1-2, this means we’ve got less than six months to get enough patches sewn onto our denim jackets and to grow our hair long enough to indulge in some proper old-skool headbanging.
