Following on from the announcement last month that Carcass and Arch Enemy are to co-headline the Friday night at this year’s Bloodstock Festival, the promoters have now announced another set of dual-headliners for the Saturday evening: Surrey Satan-botherers, Cradle of Filth, and the teutonic power metal overloads, Blind Guardian.
While it marks Dani Filth and co’s first Bloodstock, it marks Blind Guardian’s second appearance. They last played the festival back in 2002, when it was just a piddly little thing with an audience of 1500 – just over a tenth of the size of this year’s event. Thrash Hits is going to throw so many horns this year we’re going to end up hurting ourselves.

Tickets for Bloodstock 2009 are on sale now through the official Bloodstock website for the reasonable price of £99.95 (+ booking fees and all that nonsense). The festival is set to take place once again at Catton Hall in Derbyshire, from August 14-16.
