According to a source that asked to not be identified, Deftones will be playing this year’s Reading & Leeds Festivals. Apparently, the band will be using a stand-in for bassist Chi Cheng, who has been in a coma since being involved in a car crash late last year. Interesting.
The appearance will mark Deftones first appearance at Reading & Leeds since 2000, and their first UK festival appearance since Download 2006.

The initial line-up for Reading & Leeds Festival 2009 is being officially announced tomorrow just before 7pm, which is when tickets for both festivals go on sale. Since weekend tickets are a wallet-breaking £175 + booking fees, the festival better be packing a line-up so good it makes grown men weep.
Festival Republic head honcho, Melvin Benn, has said the high price is down to the collapse of the pound against the dollar. Which is kinda interesting considering all the price rises Reading and Leeds Festival tickets had during all the years when the pound pissed all over the dollar.
