Well, it turns out our earlier information was a big bag of balls – well, most of it anyway. The initial line-up for this year’s Reading & Leeds Festivals has been officially announced by Festival Republic, and you know what? It’s not all bad news.
Despite Download, Sonisphere, and to a lesser extent, Bloodstock, tapping out the premier metal talent for the UK’s summer festival season, Reading & Leeds Festivals have managed to get a few big rock names on their bill. Placebo, Fall Out Boy, Deftones (as previously revealed by Thrash Hits), Funeral For A Friend, Enter Shikari, Eagles of Death Metal, Gallows, AFI and The Gaslight Anthem are all propping up a bill of tepid indie and limp-wristed scenester bands. There’s more names to be announced, but were not holding our breath for anything substantially metal.
Tickets are on sale now for the eye-watering price of £175 + fees, although if it’s anything like recent years they’ll have almost sold out by the time you read this.
