Perennial nu-metal-turned-cock-rockers Papa Roach are back with their sixth (!) album Metamorphosis on 23 March 2009. First, however, they’re releasing bitter social commentary, ‘Hollywood Whore’ along with a cutting video. Cutting to all those whores. In Hollywood.
Unsurprisingly, in between spliced shots of the horrible girl in question is Coby Dick Jacoby Shaddix and co, clad in sexy black, black leather in the video with the genius frontman gesticulating wildly whilst snarling and spitting lyrics like:
“Hollywood whore, passed out on the floor. I’m sorry but the party’s over.”
It gets a bit good when the seemingly lovely, but a bit ‘drunk’ lady gets up, stumbles around and then, as her face melts away, spits blood Carrie/Omen style at the band. Yummy.
It’s already far from a classic but that doesn’t stop us wanting the Californian quintet to join the ’90s massive at Download Festival 2009.

Can you believe that Papa Roach have sold over 10 million records? That’s an average of 2 million copies of each record sold. It’s true, but it’s definitely not tr00.

I can’t help but love this band, I was a biiiiggg fan back in the days of Infest and Lovehatetragedy, loved Getting Away With Murder.. not a major fan of The Paramour Sessions but I am nonetheless looking forward to Metamorphosis. The songs I have heard thus far sound to me like the old Papa Roach is starting to shine back through, and that is a good thing – mix the old with the new, not bad! Plus, they are a fantastic live band! definately worth watching at wherever they play
