Don’t ask us how we know. We shouldn’t know. The person we heard it from shouldn’t have told us. And they’re not supposed to know about it either. What in the name of unholy Hell are we on about? Well, Thrash Hits has heard from a reputable source that Faith No More are playing shows in both London and Scotland in the week prior to their headline slot at this year’s Download Festival.
All this comes in the wake of yesterday’s will-they-won’t-they announcements regarding Faith No More joining the line-up for Reading and Leeds Festivals. The furore emerged when then band announced on their official website that they would be playing the twin-festivals in August, despite the band’s headline slot at Download being billed as “their only UK show this year” by Download’s promoters. The dates were subsequently removed from www.FNM.com, and the only word from the band so far has been a Twitter post from band member, Billy Gould:
“Reading and Leeds: I’m getting conflicting info..at the moment agent will not confirm. Dates are off fnm.com site now.”
However, Thrash Hits has received word of plans for the legendary band to play Brixton Academy in London, and an as-yet-undetermined venue in Scotland, on June 10 and 11. We’ve got no news whatsoever beyond that – ticket prices are still a mystery, as when (if?) tickets for these shows will go on sale is anyone’s guess. Of course, taking yesterday’s events into account, there’s a possibility it might not happen at all, but once this business with Reading & Leeds is sorted out though, we wouldn’t be surprised if we’re telling a lot of people “I told you so…..”
