While Slipknot can’t perform at the UK Sonisphere Festivals due to pesky legal clauses that come with their Download Festival headline spot, it doesn’t mean that their multitude of side-projects have any such restriction. Which is why the third stage at Sonisphere will see the debut UK performance from Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan’s Dirty Little Rabbits project, as well as a solo acoustic spot from Slipknot frontman, Corey Taylor.
Who’d want to see the full Slipknot live show when you’ve got that to look forward to? Well, okay, pretty much everyone going to, thinking about going to, and working at Sonisphere, but that’s neither here nor there.
They’re not the only acts announced to play on the stage that’s now part of an area called ‘Bohemia Village’. Billed as “Moulin Rouge meets Mad Max” (c/o the Sonisphere PR department), the stage will also see performances from Cancer Bats, The Ataris, Dead By April, The Chapman Family, Rolo Tomassi, Dinosaur Pile-up, Attack! Attack!, Fighting With Wire, and Twin Atlantic. Okay, now there’s a few acts you can get your teeth into.

It’s als been announce that ‘Bohemia Village’ will also have a whole lot of the usual festival distractions – some comedy performances, Jägermeister Rock Karaoke, some fairground rides, the Monster Energy Drink Stunt Show, the Guitar Hero: Metallica Experience, a ‘Cinema’ you probably wont be able to hear over the sound of people shouting “BOLLOCKS!”, and a Silent bloody Disco. Let’s face it, no-one really cares about all that time-wasting, money-draining claptrap except when the shit bands are on, or after midnight when it’s the only alternative to drinking yourself into a blind stupor, right?
