After not headlining but definitely entertaining on the Main Stage at Download Festival 2009, Limp Bizkit have confirmed that they’re also going to be performing at Sonisphere Festival 2009. Bonus!
The nu-metal pioneers will be a support to Metallica on Sunday, 02 August 2009 with Linkin Park headlining the previous night. That’s a nu-metalfest, right there. Not Metallica… oh, doesn’t matter.

Frontman Fred Durst had the following to say about his band’s festival return:
“We are honoured to be a part of such an event as Knebworth and even more excited to be returning to England so soon. [The] UK rocks hard!!”
We got the setlist and a couple of photos from their Latvian return in May. This will be fun, especially if Fred’s trousers get pulled down again.
It’s doubtful, however, that Fred Durst’s wonderful Michael Jackson tribute will be topped…

I can’t believe they announced Limp Bizkit! I thought they were Download exclusive
Sonisphere is looking to be like the best festival this year! (except maybe download…)

I’m intrigued to see the day that Metallica and Limp Bizkit fans meet in a field.
Sunday, 02 August 2009 could see half the UK’s metal community wiped out in an epic bloodbath.

I have a feeling Limp Bizkit might be bottled horrendously by the NIN crowd at least, especially with Trent having publicly dissed them, but Metallica fans are going to hit them hard I presume. I need to go to this. It’s probably going to be NIN’s last ever UK show. D:
