We hate to be the bearer of bad news. Due to an unforseen and urgent family matter, The Ghost OF A Thousand have been forced to cancel their headlining slot on the Redbull Bedroom Jam Stage on the Saturday night of this year’s Download Festival. And to make matters even more depressing, if you were hoping of catching the Brighton five-piece at the Alexisonfire show at The Borderline in London tonight, then you’re also in for some diasppointment – the band have had to cancel their support slot there too.
It’s particularly frustrating as anyone who saw them tear it up on the recent Gallows tour, or has had the good sense to pick up their 5.5-out-of-6 Thrash Hits-rated new album, New Hopes New Demonstrations, will tell you, this band couldn’t be more on fire right now if you doused them in lighter fuel and flicked lit cigarette butts at them.
In a statement, the band had this to say
“We are all very upset and will make it up to everyone that wanted to see the band very soon, thanks for your understanding on this. We’ll see you soon”
That’s because the only good news to come out of this is that their headlining July tour (which you just know is going to slay) is still going ahead.
