It looks like the kings of emo, My Chemical Romance are going to be returning to the UK festival scene in 2009.
Hunky, bespectacled bassist, Mikey Way has let rip on his Twitter with the following two Tweets:

The New Jersey quintet are recording the follow-up to 2006’s breakthrough album, The Black Parade with Brendan O’Brien who’s just produced lacklustre new releases from Killswitch Engage and Billy Talent. Great. He also produced Mastodon’s amazing new album, Crack The Skye though. Oooooh.
Reading & Leeds Festival takes place on 28-30 August 2009 and is completely sold out, so if you don’t have a ticket, GUTTED!

Hate it when people are afraid to like a band because of a genre. I think they have some decent tunes, some amazing guitar and I couldnt care less what they fanbase get up to in their own time.
I have seen them live, wheter you like them or not they are one one those bands that can put on a shit hot performance, I’d love to see them again.

shut up if you don’t like them. i like them (and i’m not an emo) and i also like lamb of god and slayer. i also like eminem, cypress hill, the chemical brothers, johnny cash and loads more. just because something is a certain genre doesn’t mean you shouldn’t like it. you shouldn’t only be confined to one genre and dismiss another. mcr are very creative and a top band IMO

Yes the thicko’s are back out. ” Lets pay to go to a festival and throw piss at a band we don’t happen to like, just for fun.”. The fact that It’s costing money for the tickets to do this seems to escape them. Others think fans of this music sit in a dark room and cut themselves. With any luck they will do exactly that. In years to come people will listen to black parade and wonder ” why did I not notice how good they were all these years ago. WATCH THIS SPACE. Remember all the bands from years gone by (yes I am over 35 ) that have got the same reaction and now they are looked on as great influences to others. If these morons are too stupid to think “I may not like this music but others do so I’l listen a bit” they should just stay away from the festivals and go home to their little dark rooms and cut themselves. Anyone want to give them advice on how to do It and do away with themselves?

i heard, and i dunno whether this is true or not so dont quote me on this, that the deftones are pulling out and mcr are replacing them…
someone said about the deftones scrapping their new ablum or something and not doing tours.
