This coming week sees a couple of big occasions in the life of the guitarist formerly known as Saul Hudson. Not only does Tuesday mark the 22nd anniversary of the release of Appetite For Destruction, but then on Thursday, Slash hits his 44th birthday. Holy shit! That means Slash has been carrying the millstone of his best work being behind him for exactly half his entire life. That’s just gotta sting.

Ahh, we’re sure the knowledge that he’s pretty much the most recognisable guitarist on the fact of the planet is some solace to the man. So to mark the passing of these dual anniversaries, we’ve put together a Spotify Slaylist in recognition of Slash’s career to date. And no, we haven’t put any of those bloody Michael Jackson songs he played on it, either. We’d hope you’re as sick as we are about hearing about Jacko by now.

We say this every week, but make sure you’ve downloaded Spotify first before trying to listen to our Slaylist. It’s damn well worth it.

Obviously we can’t fit every song Slash has laid some six-string action down on into our Slaylist. We think we’ve got the mix right – a few Guns classics, a nod to the interim years in Slash’s Snakepit, some tracks from his return to rock’s front lines as a member of Velvet Revolver, with a few covers and guest spots he’s played on thrown in for good measure. Disagree? Let us know down below.
