Those perv-tastic German metallers, Rammstein, were confirmed today as one of the headliners for the 2010 outing of Germany’s premier rock festival, Rock am Ring. Which if past trends are anything to go by, pretty much increases the likelihood we’ll be seeing them at Donington come next June.
If you take a moment to look at the line-ups sported by Rock am Ring and those of Download from the last couple of years, you’ll notice a significant amount of crossover. Their position in the summer festival calender – a mere week apart – combined with the shared tastes of the festivals’ respective crowds, means that it makes sense for bands on the summer festival circuit to double-up.
Add to that the fact that Rammstein have a new album out in just two weeks, they currently have a big summer-shaped hole in their tour schedule, and they put on the kind of stage show that most festivals simply ache to put on, means we wouldn’t be surprised to see the Teutonic powerhouse of industrial descend on Download next year.
Watch the video to ‘Amerika’ by Rammstein. We ren’t very well going to embed ‘Pussy’, were we?
Rammstein are touring the UK for headline shows of their own February – tickets haven’t sold out yet but they’re going fast, so if you want to get you better get your skates on.
