TEN YEARS. TEN BLOODY YEARS. That’s how long Oceansize have been releasing their own particular brand of experimental rock. And it’s a damn sight longer than most of the young packs of Brit-whippersnappers bothering the pages of Kerrang! these days could ever hope to endure.
To mark their decade together, last October Oceansize played every damn song they’ve ever recorded over the course of a 3-night residency at the Manchester Roadhouse. And for all of us who couldn’t physically go to Manchester to witness how awesome this was, they filmed it for release as a DVD – well, three of them to be exact. Joined by four CDs of music, this footage makes up Oceansize’s excellent and recently-released boxset, Feed To Feed.
They also rather considerably hosted a screening of some of the best bits at the Prince Charles Cinema, here in London town. Before that all kicked off, Raz went over to the Gibson Guitar Studio to interrogate Oceansize’s Mike Vennart on the high highs and lows of the last 10 years. Be warned: that place is a six-stringer’s wet dream.

Later that night, Oceansize were spotted entering drinking dens of ill-refute, acoompanied by various members of the Thrash Hits editorial team. What happened later that evening will remain a closely-guarded secret, but something that really shouldn’t be kept under wraps though is the fact that Oceansize have got a clutch of live dates still to go before the year is out.
