Way back in December 2003, The Darkness were riding high upon the crest of a wave of success that stemmed from the absolutely massive success of their debut album, Permission To Land. It was only natural for the most inventive and exuberant British rockers in recent memory to release a soon-to-be classic Christmas single.
In a classic FAIL, ‘Christmas Time (Don’t Let the Bells End)’ got to #2 in the UK Singles Chart having been beaten by that Donnie Darko song. Close but no cigar, though The Darkness can take some solace in having beaten the Prince Of Darkness and Kelly Osbourne.
If you don’t already, you should follow Justin Hawkins on Twitter. He’s still one of the most awesome men in the world of rock. Then watch this video. It too is a classic.
