Metallica have confirmed The Big Four will tour Sonisphere Festival!

Metallica have broken the news that they will be performing live onstage together on their official website. The dates in Poland and the Czech Republic have so far been confirmed.

SO. FAR.

“Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax . . . the rumors are true!”

“You’ve been posting and chatting about it for months and we’re here now to confirm it . . . Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax will all share the same stage for the first time EVER! Look for the four of us at the Sonisphere shows in Warsaw, Poland and Prague, Czech Republic on June 16 and 19, 2010 with a few more of the festival dates still in the works, you can be sure these shows won’t be the only ones.

In the words of Lars: “Who would have thought that more than 25 years after its inception, thrash metal’s big 4 would not only still be around and more popular than ever, but will now play together for the first time…what a mindfuck! Bring it on!”

    Metallica can’t headline Knebworth 2 years running. They’ll just play the New Territories, like Poland and Czech Republic…

    I doubt they’ll play Knebworth to be fair, they can’t do it two years in a row. Let’s just rumour them for Download and leave it at that

    They won’t play Download, you plum. Reading maybe.

    I reckon they’ll play all the Sonispheres in all the countries that didn’t have Sonisphere last summer.

    The other 3 will play every Sonishpere anywhere.

    Can’t happen at Download, Anthrax and Slayer are festival exclusives. Which also rules out any other festival bar Knebworth.

    I am pretty sure it will come to the uk, so it will be one of two things.

    Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax announced for Knebworth, and then some sort of secret Metallica set, as they won’t officially headline twice in two years.

    A seperate gig, at Wembley or Milton Keynes, as that wouldn’t be covered by the exclusivity contract.

    I think Johnny and Charles are pretty spot on there. Metallica won’t play Knebworth unless it’s one of their famous ‘secret shows’. Famous… secret… ungh.

    It about time the big major rager on the stage and making sweet nosie out those Marshal amp's half stacks.
