Yet another promising young British band has decided to sign off before 2010 crashes to a close – fresh-faced London grind kids Throats have decided to split up. In the band’s own words, they “are thinking about a last show but it’s not 100% certain yet.”
For Fuck’s Sake, 2010. Stop killing our bands.
Throats had a bit of a bumpy ride over the last 12 months, that’s for sure – back in January, their drummer quit mere hours before the band was due to go on tour across Europe with former-labelmates, Crocus. Then at the end of the summer, the band amicably split from their label, Holy Roar, in order for the band to pursue a more self-sufficient existence. As of today, unfortunately it seems that for whatever reason, this hasn’t worked out for them.
Watch Throats play live at Hevy Festival 2010:
We really enjoyed seeing Throats play live whenever we could – the gig they played at the Old Blue Last to launch their venomous mini-album was one of our favourite small gigs of the year. So go on you lanky grind-freaks – put on one last show. You’ve got to shift that last bit of merch, and we want to see you give yourselves a proper send-off.
