Australian not-really-drum’n’bass-anymore crossover act, Pendulum, have been added to the bill of this year’s Download Festival, where they’re scheduled to headline the second stage. Joining them in tonight’s announcement – painstakingly drawn out by Zane Lowe on Radio 1 – are those old uncles of nu-metal’s that refuses to go away even though the party’s finished, Korn, and 18 other bands you may/may not care about. Some of them are shite, some of them will blow your tits off – check the full list of names out after the jump.
The other 18 names added to the bill are Bullet For My Valentine, Alter Bridge, The Cult, Alice Cooper, Clutch, Danzig, The Gaslight Anthem, Hollywood Undead, Thin Lizzy, Buckcherry, The Damned Things, Escape The Fate, Mr Big, FM, Masters of Reality, GWAR, Rise To Remain and Black Veil Brides.
Okay, we’ll admit it – some of us here at Thrash Hits (i.e., Hugh) are really, really fucking stoked about finally getting to see Danzig play live. HELLS YEAH.
We didn’t see Pendulum at Download Festival 2009 as we were too busy doing this:
All these bands join the already-announced headliners, Linkin Park and System of a Down, as well as Rob Zombie and Avenged Sevenfold of the bill of the ninth Download Festival. The festival is taking place – as usual – at Donington Park, this year falling on the weekend of June 10-12. Tickets are on sale now through the official Download Festival website, starting at £145 (plus the usual fees and all that bollocks).
