Don’t worry if you’re one of those audiophile-types who worries that the sound quality of mp3s isn’t up to scratch – Earache, the band’s label, has made sure the album download will meet your standards by making it 320kbps mp3s. If you don’t understand geek-speak, that means they sound as good as any mp3 you’ve ripped off a CD. Also (as if it even needed to be said), the mp3s are entirely DRM-free.

Dirge is also available for pre-order on physical formats (both CD and limited edition vinyl) so if you want something to hold in your hands while you listen to their insane grind, click here and hand over some cash. In addition to the plain old standard CD version of Dirge, there is also has a limited edition CD version, which includes a bonus DVD with behind-the-scenes footage of the making of the album. Which is pretty sweet, if you like that sort of thing. It’s due out on May 03 if you’re lucky enough to live in North America, or May 23 if you’re stuck over here in Europe. Not that those dates mean that much anymore, given that you’re probably downloading it already.
