Sonisphere Festival confirms 12 more acts for Knebworth (well, 11 if you don’t count Opeth)

Well, following Opeth’s self-confirmation earlier today that they’re be playing the UK leg of Sonisphere Festival 2011, the festival has gone ahead and confirmed an additional 11 names that will be making an appearance at Knebworth this summer. The Mars Volta, Killing Joke, Four Year Strong, The Black Dahlia Murder, Black Tide, Watain, Firewind, Rise To Remain, Alestorm, The Treatment, Six Hour Sundown will all be playing the festival, which takes place over the weekend of July 08-10.

The first day splits have also been confirmed, with the latest Sonisphere poster confirming whcih days that some bands are playing for the very first time.

The internet has already been heard crying like a blubbering man-baby over the Saturday schedule.

    I am super pleased I finally might get to see Watain, as there’s been gig clashes the last two times they’ve been in London.

      Hopefully they’ll play a tent so the full rancid stench can take full effect. No prizes for guessing I’m a little bit pleased about this announcement.
