Sunday Slaylist: Because You’re Not At Hammerfest

Hammerfest 3 March 2011 prestatyn pontins thrash hits competition win

If you’re reading this, it’s safe to say that you probably weren’t at this year’s Hammerfest. No, if you were at Pontins in Prestatyn this weekend, by all rights you should be slowly crawling back home through the fug of an almighty hangover, and bracing yourself against the after effects of a neck-busting bangover.

Well, not all of us could make it to Hammerfest this year. All we could do was enviously look at the increasing number of twitpics of drunken abandon, receive incomprehensible 2am text messages from our colleagues that were in attendance, and put together this bittersweet Slaylist of all the bands we wish we had been seeing this weekend rather than being stuck back down in London.

Listen to our Sunday Slaylist: Because Your’re Not At Hammerfest

Spotify is once again open to everyone for free. You don’t need an invite or anything. Okay, so they’ve changed the terms and conditions a little bit so you can only listen to 20 hours of music a month if you’re not willing to cough up at least a fiver, but that’s more than enough time to wrap your ears around our weekly Slaylists.

There’s no Turbowolf on Spotify, but they’re playing Hammerfest too:

Of course, there’s always the off-chance that you’ve just got back from Hammerfest, and have somehow managed to rouse yourself from your post-festival hangover long enough to crack open our Slaylist for a listen. If you did make it to this year’s event, what were your personal highlights? Drop us a comment down below. Maybe we’ll agree with you – our coverage from the festival is dropping next week.
