Hevy Festival 2011 Thrash Hits

In case we haven’t made it obvious by now, we hate writing about festival line-up announcements. Every couple of weeks or so we have to knock out a news piece at whatever godforsaken hour the festival in question has deemed is the acceptable time for news of the latest bookings to be released, feigning interest in a half-dozen shitty bands surrounding a single name we’re actually interested in seeing.

Thankfully, the guys over at Hevy Festival have no time for such dicking about either, as they went and announced a whopping 25 bands in their first 2011 line-up announcement earlier this week. It only seems fair and proper that we give them a Slaylist in recognition of the amount of ballache they saved us by doing so.

Not only that, but Hevy Festival have announced Thrash Hits favourites, The Dillinger Escape Plan, will be co-headlining the Saturday night of this year’s festival alongside rising British metalcore stars, Architects. It’s Dillinger’s only European festival appearance of 2011, so we’re already planning our road trip down to Kent this Summer.

Listen to our Sunday Spotify Slaylist: Hevy Festival 2011 first announcement

Spotify is once again open to everyone for free. You don’t need an invite or anything. Okay, so they’ve changed the terms and conditions a little bit so you can only listen to 20 hours of music a month if you’re not willing to cough up at least a fiver, but that’s more than enough time to wrap your ears around our weekly Slaylists.

Weekend Tickets for Hevy Festival 2011 are on sale now through the festival’s official website for just £89 (plus all the usual fees). There’s no official word on whether there will be Day Tickets this year. The festival is taking place once again at Port Lympne Wild Animal Park, starting this year on Friday 05 August through to Monday 08 August.
