The final bands playing the the UK leg of this year’s Sonisphere Festival have been confirmed. Among the 24 bands that have all been added to the line-up this afternoon are Thrash Hits favourites The Defiled, Turbowolf, Black Breath and The Safety Fire. OH HELL YEAH – it is going to be one kickass weekend at Knebworth.
Joining them in this afternoon’s announcement are Black Spiders, Anberlin, Sonic Boom Six, Blood Red Shoes, Cerebral Ballzy, Cherri Bomb, Decade, Don Broco, Exit Ten, Flats, Innerpartysystem, Mojo Fury, Panic Cell, Revoker, Rival Sons, Slam Cartel, Sons Of Icarus, White She Sleeps, Young Legionnaire, and Hammer Of The Gods.
We’re pleased as punch that Turbowolf, The Defiled and While She Sleeps are all making it to Knebworth for the second (or third, in the case of The Defiled) year running. They’re all bands that we’ve championed here at Thrash Hits and it’s great to see they’re finally getting the recognition they deserve. The Defiled are returning to the Jagermeister stage in 2011, but unlike their mid-afternoon slot in 2009, this year they’re headlining the stage on the Friday night. Well done, boys!

Having just hosted The Safety Fire oat our second Thrash Hits Presents night two weeks ago, it’s great news that even more people will get to see why we chose to book them when they tear it up at Knebworth. And finally (and perhaps best of all) is the news that Black Breath will be making their UK festival debut at the festival – anyone that caught their short tour of the UK at the tail end of 2010 knows that those boys know how to bring it.
Tickets for Sonisphere Festival are available now through the official Sonisphere website, where prices start at £180 (plus all the usual fees and whatnot). Some ticket types are already starting to sell out for this year’s festival, which once again takes place at the splendid Knebworth Park, so you better start saving up if you want to catch The Big Four, Slipknot, Biffy Clyro, and all of the bands that have been announced this coming July.
