It’s something of a mystery to us why we’ve not written more about how megaton-level awesome Narrows are – especially given how their line-up boasts ex- and current members of bands such as Botch, These Arms Are Snakes, and Tropics (among others). When we saw them play the Camden Underworld just over a year ago, they were so loud they nearly deafened us even after they blew out the venue’s entire PA.
Why bring this up now? Well, when we saw our compadré, Andy Parker, caught them in Brighton last night, he shot a live bootleg that was sufficiently amazing – and unique – that we just had share it with you.
We can’t come up with a more succinct description of his bootleg than the one Andy himself give it:
This is the second time I have seen Narrows now and I remembered the stage setup having this single floodlight. The interior of The Green Door Store in Brighton provides added ambience, as I looked around, I noticed a whole other show.

Narrows still have a pair of gigs to play in the UK before they return to continental Europe for a few more shows, so if you happen to be in Leeds or London (or indeed, are one of our European readers), do yourself a favour and get on down if you happen to live near any of these.
Narrows May 2011 European tourdates:
19 Leeds Brudenell Social Club
20 London Old Blue Last
21 Paris Espace B
22 Wiesbaden Schlachthof
23 Berlin Lovelite
24 Barcelona Moog
Narrows’ album, New Distances, came out back in 2009 on Deathwish Records. You really, really, REALLY ought to have bought a copy by now.
