System Of A Down Serj Tankian Download Festival 2011 by Gary Wolstenholme Thrash Hits

Well here it is – other than our buddies The Darkness, System of a Down were the reunion that was on everybody’s lips here at Download Festival 2011. We won’t pretend it was the most energetic of performances – Daron Malakian in particular spent most of the set looking bored beyond belief – but it was spot-on note-perfect. When you’ve got tens of thousands of people singing along to ‘Chop Suey’, ‘B.Y.O.B.’, ‘War?’ and all the other bona-fide classics in the System library, you’ve got one hell of a headline set on your hands.

Big hold up to begin with, looked like the curtain for the opening number ‘prison song’ got stuck but after that it was pure magic, Serj Tankian was magnificent as always, I sang till I was a mute and danced till I was crippled…….as did everyone around me…..awsome!
