We’ve very pleased that we can finally announce that our good friends Turbowolf have signed to Hassle Records, the UK home of such bands as Cancer Bats, Alkaline Trio, and Trash Talk. They’ve also settled upon the wondrously-apocalyptic date of 11/11/11 as a provisional release date of their long, long, long awaited debut album. But wait, there’s more!

For starters, that promo picture we’re using is all wrong – Chris Davis, drummer for the band (and him on the far-right of the picture above) has sadly decided to leave the band because of other commitments. Anyone who caught the ‘wolf at their (relatively) recent show supporting Monotonix will have spotted the new face behind the kit, that of his replacement, Blake Davies. As you can see from the video below, Blake is both a top chap and the owner of a rather solid piece of beard real-estate. It also tells us that we need to get a new promo picture sharpish.

Watch UK Drummer interview Blake Davies:

We are very lucky here at Thrash Hits to have a now-obsolete mix of the debut album, which we’ve now been told is having a bit of a shuffle-around following more studio time. Someone might’ve told us ‘Put The Fire Out’ is off, which makes us sad (it being a live favourite of ours) and we’re still not sure of the status of Turbowolf’s off-again-on-again cover of Black Sabbath’s ‘The Wizard’, which was mooted for inclusion at some point.

Turbowolf debut album obsolete tracklisting:
Introduction
Seven Severed Heads
The Big Cut
A Rose For The Crows
All The Trees
Read + Write
Ancient Snake
TW1
Things Could Be Good Again
Put The Fire Out
Let’s Die

Apparently the newer, sexier, longer extended mix of the band’s previous single, ‘Seven Severed Heads’, is getting played tonight on the Radio 1 Rock Show, so make sure you tune in your radios, DABs, or internet web-browsers to the correct frequency at midnight tonight and listen out for it. Because after Daniel P. Carter plays it on his radio show, the band are going to be offering it up as a free download from their Facebook page. See? We told you they were top dudes.

You can catch Turbowolf playing live on the Sunday of this year’s Sonisphere Festival, where they’ll be knocking seven severed heads’ worth of shit out of the Bohemia Tent. They’re also playing the Friday of this year’s Tramlines Festival in Sheffield, and on the Saturday of this year’s Off The Cuff Festival in Birmingham. There are also plans for a full UK tour closer to the album’s eventual release date – we’ll keep you posted of any news once we hear it.
