A few weeks ago, Mastodon premiered a “video” for ‘Curl Of The Burl’, the second track from their astonishing new album, The Hunter. The video was a bit bland – just some visualisation effects laid on some uninspiring footage of a forest. We didn’t really give two hoots at the time, given that we were too busy listening to the brand-new music from Mastodon at the time, but we’re still glad they’ve gone and made a proper video for it too – complete with weird, drugged-up lumberjacks, and coteries of big-breasted blonde women shining flashlights out of the tits. Uh-huh.

Obviously it doesn’t quite live up to the ludicrousness of Mastodon’s last video (the Adult Swim-funded puppet-massacre that accompanied their non-album track, ‘Deathbound’), but we think it’s pretty sweet, regardless:

What do you reckon? It’s definitely better than the previous wood-swirl video. And it gives us yet another excuse to spend the rest of the day listening to The Hunter, instead of getting on with reviewing the new Machine Head album or something like that.
