Bloodstock Open Air announces Behemoth as their Friday night headliner for 2012

Bloodstock Open Air have announced their Friday night main stage headliners for 2012 – Behemoth. Bloodstock’s promoters have also confirmed that it will be the only UK festival appearance that Adam Darski’s Polish blackened death metal mob will be making in 2012.

Behemoth were last scheduled to play at Bloodstock Open Air back in the summer of 2010, but were forced to cancel their appearance due to Adam Darski being hospitalised after being diagnosed with leukemia. Following a series of bone marrow transplants, Darski has been slowly making a recovery since then, with Behemoth starting playing shows in their native Poland again since last month. It might be early days as far as Bloodstock Open Air 2012 line-up announcements go, but we’d stake all our beer money on the fact that no-one will get a louder cheer at Catton Hall next year than when Nergal walks on stage for his band’s Friday night headline spot.

Bloodstock Open Air 2012 is taking place at Catton Hall from 09 August 2010 to 12 August 2010. Joining Behemoth on the bill for Bloodstock Open Air 2012 are the previously-announced acts of Alice Cooper, Dimmu Borgir, Hatebreed, Corrosion of Conformity, Anaal Nathrakh, Watain, Paradise Lost, and Anvil. Early bird four-day camping tickets for next year’s event are already on sale for just £90 (plus booking fee) until Christmas, after which prices are gonna go up. So if you want to see Alice Cooper’s only UK festival show of 2012 at a cheaper price, now’s the time to splash some cash and head on over to the Bloodstock website.
