There was no act louder than Godflesh at Damnation Festival 2011. Even with ear protection, we didn’t dare approach the front of the Jägermeister stage, in case the industrial pioneers shattered every bone in our inner ear. How Gary Wolstenholme go close enough to get these snaps and escape with his eardrums unruptured we’ll never know.
