Sunday Slaylist: The Prodigy @ Download Festival 2009

November 20th, 2011 · No Comments

When The Prodigy were announced as the third headliner for Download Festival 2012 this week, we expected there to be plenty o internet butt-hurt surrounding it. After all, 1) this is the internet, 2) this is a Download Festival announcement, and 3) people are idiots. We didn’t expect it to be quite so funny however – someone commented on our Facebook page that “I don’t find any differences between their music and for example AQUA’s music”. Riiiiiight. All of which brings us to this week’s Slaylist.

We figured we should take the opportunity to remind people that festivals are supposed to be about drinking and dancing and hanging out with your friends and having fun and stuff like that, and more specifically, how The Prodigy fit in to that equation. This week’s Slaylist is The Prodigy’s exact set from Download 2009, when they headlined the second stage.

Listen to our Sunday Slaylist: The Prodigy @ Download Festival 2009

Spotify is available to most of Western Europe and the USA for free – though obviously you’re better off shelling out either £5 or £10 a month for one of Spotify’s premium packages, as then you can listen to our Slaylists without having them interrupted by adverts. For our readers in countries not currently serviced by Spotify….sorry.

Watch The Prodigy headlining Milton Keynes Bowl, then go cry to yo’ mamma:

We’re using The Prodigy’s Download 2009 set because it was their most recent visit to Donington, but as we’re sure plenty of you know, it certainly wasn’t their first. Cast your minds back to 2006 – the year when The Prodigy practically burst the second stage (back when it was still a tent) because of how many people wanted to see them. If The Prodigy headlining the main stage of Download Festival 2012 is still a problem for you, then maybe you ought to consider the fact that maybe you’re the problem here.
