It’s not as if we needed another reason to like Between The Buried And Me, but in answering our Christmas questions, we think their drummer, Blake Richardson, might’ve outed himself as as a fan of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia. At least that’s what we’d like to infer from his use of the phrase “cultivating mass“.

What is your favourite Christmas song?
‘Carol of the Bells’ is up there simply for melodic reasons, but I would have to go with ‘I’ll be home for Christmas’. I’ve always loved that one.
What is your favourite Christmas movie?
This is a toss up between Home Alone and Scrooged. Both movies have great nostalgic values. Although, Home Alone, for me is a movie that I can watch pretty much anytime anywhere. So I’d say that one wins.
What is the most metal Christmas present you’ve either given or received?
Most metal gift I have ever received for Christmas was probably my first drum set when I was 11 years old. My uncle gave me his 60′s ludwig kit with some sick roto toms. You can’t get more metal than that!
Blake Richardson is here to make you feel uncomfortable:
What is your best memory of 2011?
One that pops up quite often is when we were in Europe, we played a venue in Zurich that was right by an awesome river. It was hot that day but the water was fairly cool so it was so refreshing. We basically spent the entire day swimming and jumping off the bridge into the water. Great times.
What is your favourite album of 2011?
My favorite album of 2011 would probably be Pain of Salvation‘s Road Salt Two. The first one was amazing but they definitely topped it with this bad boy.
What will your New Year Resolution be?
I am going to try and cultivate as much mass as possible. Losing weight as a new years resolution is so pre 2012.
If all those mad prophecies about 2012 being the end of the world comes true, how do you want the apocalypse to manifest itself?
I mean, everyone hopes for a zombie apocalypse, and I am inclined to agree. I’ve got my Mossberg shotgun, my Glock, and my Springfield .45, and tons of ammo. Bring it on!

What role would you take in a nativity play?
I would just play an extra. Put me in the background with no lines and I’ll be content with that!
2011 has been a year of revolution and upheaval – what do you think will happen in 2012?
It’s tough to say what will happen in 2012. Politically, a whole damn lot is going to happen. Maybe we will get a new president and maybe we won’t. Either way I feel like there may be some mass uprisings in the future. And I’m not talking about wimpy protests. I’m talking rednecks driving everywhere and killing every living thing that moves!
Who is the ugliest person you’ve kissed under the mistletoe?
Now this is a good one. I’ve had so many mistletoe kiss sessions that it is hard to think of who would be the ugliest. Man this is tough. Oh no, I got it. I’m pretty sure it was you’re mom! HAHAH. Wait….what?
