Jason Decay from Cauldron knows more about old bands than us. We can’t decide whether he likes bands so obscure that even our most rigourous Google searches can’t find them, or whether our Christmas questions annoyed him so much so that he just made up a fake band to see if we’d publish any old nonsense.

What is your favourite Christmas song?
‘Jingle Bell Hell’ or ‘Black Christmas’ by Corpsebike.
What is your favourite Christmas movie?
I’m not big on christmas themed stuff at all since working in retail, so probably something like Christmas Evil.
What is the most metal Christmas present you’ve either given or received?
A metal record.
What is your best memory of 2011?
I tend not to remember my best memories.
What is your favourite album of 2011?
Burning Fortune.
After such a subtle plug, we figure we at least ought to post a Cauldron video:
What will your New Year Resolution be?
None
If all those mad prophecies about 2012 being the end of the world comes true, how do you want the apocalypse to manifest itself?
I didn’t know that was going to happen. I don’t know, I don’t like that thought of it.
What role would you take in a nativity play?
Who’s all in that? Maybe baby Jesus. Or Joseph.
2011 has been a year of revolution and upheaval – what do you think will happen in 2012?
We’ll release a new album, our drummer will quit, a tour will get cancelled, and I’ll move again.
Who is the ugliest person you’ve kissed under the mistletoe?
I’ve never kissed anyone under the mistletoe.

What do you think of Lulu?
Sounds great! No actually, I haven’t heard it beyond that one song, but it reminded me of a better sounding version of St Anger, which I didn’t like.
