IT’S CHRISTMASSS. Well, it’s December. That means that Christmas is just 24 days away or whatever. Kicking off our annual round of shitty band interviews, is Dripback. We asked their star bassist, Adam Da Rat loads of stupid stuff and he threatens sexual assault. Our kinda guy.
What is your favourite Christmas song?
Gotta be Slade – ‘Merry Xmas Everybody’.
What is your favourite Christmas movie?
When I was a kid it was Home Alone but I think Elf has since reclaimed the title.
What is the most metal Christmas present you’ve either given or received?
Last Christmas Dripback recorded ‘Inhaling The Ashes‘ as a present to the world, and this year anyone with a ticket to the Lock Up shows gets a free live performance from Dripback. Nothing says Christmas like fucking Dripback. [We’ll settle for just watching you – Ed]
What is your best memory of 2011?
Without doubt Kerry King noticing and commenting on my weight loss at Sonisphere.
What is your favourite album of 2011?
Probably Ancient VVisdom A Godlike Inferno. So good. Runners up include Falling In Reverse The Drug In Me Is You and bizarrely, the Asking Alexandria remix album.
What will your New Year Resolution be?
I don’t even bother with these anymore. I prefer sudden bursts of inspiration regardless of the month.
If all those mad prophecies about 2012 being the end of the world comes true, how do you want the apocalypse to manifest itself?
I don’t know exactly how, but I hope it involves the word “oops” and I really hope I survive. I have an awesome collection of bandanas, vests and cut-off combats so I’ve got the Post Apocalyptic Wardrobe sorted already.
What role would you take in a nativity play?
2011 has been a year of revolution and upheaval – what do you think will happen in 2012?
Same shit, different year.
Who is the ugliest person you’ve kissed under the mistletoe?
Hugh Platt. [This is news to me. Bad news – Hugh]
What do you think of Lulu?
I don’t understand where all this hatred is coming from and I think people need to lay the fuck off. The woman deserves more respect – she has an OBE, sang a bond theme, and the song ‘Shout’ is a bona-fide classic.
