Season’s Bleedings 2011: In Solitude – Pelle Åhman thinks about setting God on fire. It’s probably not the first time he’s thought about that, to be honest.

We were half-tempted to push Pelle Åhman from In Solitude as to why he kept answering our Christmas questions with the somewhat ominous threats of “coming closer”, but we figured it was probably safer in the long run not to poke the bollocks a man with a dead birds fetish and fantasies about setting God on fire.

What is your favourite Christmas song?
Arvo Pärt’s De Profundis and Von’s Veinen. Preferably played at the same time, while walking through an intense snowstorm in the middle of the night.

What is your favourite Christmas movie?
Ingmar Bergman’s Fanny and Alexander.

What is the most metal Christmas present you’ve either given or received?
Dead birds.

Listen to ‘Serpents Are Rising’ by In Solitude:

What is your best memory of 2011?
Coming closer.

What is your favourite album of 2011?
Nocturne of Eyes and Teeth by Reveal.

What will your New Year Resolution be?
Coming closer.

If all those mad prophecies about 2012 being the end of the world comes true, how do you want the apocalypse to manifest itself?
Silence, nakedness and complete confrontation of everything. Genesis. In all its boundless beauty.

What role would you take in a nativity play?
YHWH, drenched in oil, one unlit match from salvation.

2011 has been a year of revolution and upheaval – what do you think will happen in 2012?
Hopefully it goes in the same direction. It is about damn time to lay the tables for the end of the world.
