James Monteith is one of our favourite metal people. He is incredibly tall, has long hair and is in mighty prog metallers, TesseracT. He also pukes on us. With one hand he giveth…
What is your favourite Christmas song?
‘Carol of the Bells’ – mainly because it reminds me of the cinematic master piece, Home Alone. TesseracT drummer, Jay’s other band Heights actually do a pretty damn good version – check it out on their Facebook page. (Shameless plug!)
What is your favourite Christmas movie?
Home Alone. When this came out, I think every 8 year old wished their parents would leave them over Christmas to defend the family home against a pair of bungling burglars using toys, tins of paint and kerosene. 8 year old Macaulay Culkin was like the kiddy Bruce Willis in Die Hard. Great action, crap one liners, ‘Carol of the Bells’. Bad ass.
What is the most metal Christmas present you’ve either given or received?
Ibanez just gave me my bespoke LA custom shop guitar, which is kind of like an early xmas present. And it’s very metal.
What is your best memory of 2011?
Playing Sonisphere 2011! closely followed by puking on Raz whilst watching Helmet at SXSW. [Thanks again, James – Raz]
What is your favourite album of 2011?
Devin Townsend – Deconstruction. Gotta love Dev.
What will your New Year Resolution be?
Stop puking on people
If all those mad prophecies about 2012 being the end of the world comes true, how do you want the apocalypse to manifest itself?
The Killers In Satan’s Service – Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Peter Chris and ace Frehley – will slay us all with their sparkles, glitter and big tongue action.
What role would you take in a nativity play?
Jesus, as I look a bit like him when I grow a beard. Or the donkey.
2011 has been a year of revolution and upheaval – what do you think will happen in 2012?
More national economies will collapse, debts will grow, and the rich will get richer. It’s probably a good thing that KISS will destroy the earth next year
Who is the ugliest person you’ve kissed under the mistletoe?
Me… Well, my left hand when I was 10.
What do you think of Lulu?
One of the most hilarious records made… EVER. A masterpiece of comedy genius.
