What they’re saying:
There’s not too much to indicate we’ll be hearing the follow up to 2009’s No Guts No Glory in the near future, other than the fact that the Aussie rockers have been writing since last Summer. But we do know Airbourne are a band that cannot sit still and will be growing restless to have a reason to tour (i.e., to party), which means we may very well have a new record in our hands by the end of the year. In fact the band’s rhythm guitarist, Dave Roads, was talking about new material to Reverb magazine as far back as last summer:
“We have quite a few songs down, demos. Obviously, it is going to be delayed within the next two months because we are going out on the road, which is good; it just gives a little break and a bit of variety from the writing. We are going to still write on the road on these tours, lay a few more demos, and then start talking to some producers. Hopefully we’ll hit the studio later in the year and get a record. It should be ready to hit the road next year.”

Thrash Hits verdict:
You know what you’re gonna get with Airbourne. The chances of them listening to Pink Floyd and discovering a hitherto unknown prog inclination since the release No Guts, No Glory are very slim indeed. They will deliver a record with dirty riffs, massive hooks and sweaty choruses. And yes, it will probably sound a lot like AC/DC.
Guitar solo potential: 4/6
