Soundgarden just posted this on their official Facebook page. In addition to the five names only just released by Zane Lowe, there are nine others – co-incidentally, the same number of names set to be announced by Daniel P Carter later tonight. Did someone in Soundgarden’s camp post the wrong picture? OOPS. **UPDATE** It’s now been pulled from Soundgarden’s page (though we’ve got a screengrab). Do you think that make it more or less legit? Heaven forbid we speculate (Yes).
As you can see above, the nine new names are Machine Head, Anthrax, Trivium, Lamb of God, Devin Townsend, DevilDriver, Little Angels, Ugly Kid Joe, and August Burns Red. It also seems to confirm that Soundgarden will be sub-headlining the Main Stage under Black Sabbath, while Machine Head, Tenacious D, and YouMeAtSix are lined up for Second Stage headline spots – YouMeAtSix have even confirmed as much (via Josh Franceschi’s Twitter account). **UPDATE** According to Andy Copping’s Twitter page, Tenacious D will be playing the Main Stage before Biffy Clyro, and Machine Head will be playing the Main Stage before Chase and Status, and not headlining the Second Stage, as we’d previously inferred.
Is this legit? We’re still not 100% sure (we’re just 99.99%). We guess we’ll have to wait until Daniel P Carter confirms it later this evening… See? Told you.
