Throats were one of those bands that burned hard and burned fast. In the three of so years of the band’s lifespan, everyone kinda took them for granted. The band had shrugged off the “hipster grind” tag that their less-imaginative critics loved to throw at them, and had started to become a real force all of their own, when in and then in December 2010 they announced in December 2010 that they were splitting up. Which sucked.
The band played one final show after announcing their split (and you can watch their entire set from it here) – which coincidentally took place almost a year ago to the day. Perhaps it was the passing of that anniversary that prompted the band last night to post a link on their official Facebook page to download every damn thing they ever recorded, for free. Yes, every damn thing they ever recorded, FOR FREE.
