No doubt more than a fair few of you are already familiar with Heavy Metal In Baghdad, the superb documentary by Vice Films, which tracks the existence of Acrassicauda, Baghdad’s only active metal band during, and in the immediate aftermath of, the invasion of Iraq and ousting of Saddam Hussein. If you’re one of the poor souls who hasn’t yet checked out this vital documentary, Vice are now showing the entire documentary in serialised format over on their website.
We’ll even save you the thirty or so seconds of your life you’d spend navigating over to Vice to watch episode one, by embedding the opening episode of the serialisation right here for you to watch on Thrash Hits. For the subsequent episodes – a new one is being published every day this week – you’ll have to head on over to Vice’s Music Specials section.
If you can’t wait until tomorrow to find out what happens next (just how impatient are you?!?), then you can always go and buy the whole documentary on DVD from the film’s official website. Though actually if you think about it, by the time it’ll take to post a copy out to you, you’ll already have had the chance to watch it all over on Vice’s website. Guess buying the DVD as a shortcut to watch the whole film isn’t such a great plan, after all.
