Exactly what it says on the tin: Andy Copping, chief booker for Download Festival, has confirmed via his Twitter account that Rival Sons and Kobra & The Lotus will both play at Download Festival 2012.

Andy Copping’s exact words are as follows:

The sun’s shining, it feels like June so I guess I should let you that RIVAL SONS and KOBRA & The LOTUS have been added to the Download bill

Copping has also confirmed that Rival Sons will be playing on the Second Stage at some point on Download’s Sunday line-up. Here’s an interview we did with the band back at Sonisphere Festival last year. They’re top lads, so it’ll be good to catch up with them at Download Festival 2012:

Tickets for Download Festival 2012 are on sale now from the festival’s official website, and start at £155 for the most bare-bones packages (although that doesn’t include those pesky fees). If you’re thinking of going, it might be better to buy sooner rather than later – family camping packages and pretty much all the VIP options for the festival have already sold out. As always, Download Festival takes place at Donington Park, this year from June 8-10.
