With Iron Maiden set to release their latest live album, En Vivo!, tomorrow, and with it being ten years to the day since the release of their Rock In Rio live album, we figured this week’s Slaylist was the perfect opportunity to showcase the very best of the best live recordings that Iron Maiden – arguably the best in the business when it comes to live albums – have ever released.
Now obviously, we had to make some tough, tough choices over what to include in this week’s Slaylist, just to keep it to a manageable size. En Vivo! will be Iron Maiden’s tenth live album, which means there are multiple live versions of Iron Maiden’s best-loved tracks doing the rounds. We had some bitter arguments over which versions were the best, but we finally narrowed it down to our favourites. That said, this is still an absolute monster of a Slaylist – you might not be able to take all of this one in a single sitting…
Spotify is available to most of Western Europe and the USA for free – though obviously you’re better off shelling out either £5 or £10 a month for one of Spotify’s premium packages, as then you can listen to our Slaylists without having them interrupted by adverts. For our readers in countries not currently serviced by Spotify….sorry.

Now while Iron Maiden are one of the prolific producers of live albums, there are plenty of bands out there who more than match them on the quality of their live releases. Who are your personal favourites? Are you a 101% Proof person, or are you more into Live at the Aragon? Do you have a sneaking admiration for S&M, or do you like the dirty rawness of Loco Live?
