The band will be playing the Jägermeister Stage – the same stage they played to a capacity crowd in 2008. Damnation Festival will be the band’s only non-London show in the UK for 2012, which gives Northerners and other non-capital dwelling Southerners even more reason to make the trek up to Leeds in November.
The band released the following statement with the news of their Damnation booking:
“My Dying Bride would like to say just what a great privilege it is to actually play a festival in their home County and to some of us our home town. Not only is this the second time we will have darkened the Damnation Festival door, but this time we will be showcasing for the very fucking first time in many years our brand new material to Damnation Festival’s fans first! Damnation Festival, we love you, but prepare to meet thy Doom.”
My Dying Bride join the previously announced Pig Destroyer on the line-up for this year’s festival. Tickets for Damnation 2012 are on sale now, an will only set you back £29 (plus all the usual fees). As usual, the festival takes place in the labyrinth that is Leeds University’s Student Union, and this year will take place on Saturday 03 November.
