The sandwich is possibly the greatest food-based invention. We need to be able to eat and post on Facebook at the same time. Sandwiches allow us to do this. The best thing about sandwiches, however, is that anybody can eat them. Vegetarian? Put some more salad in. Belly doesn’t like wheat? Use some gluten-free bread then! And everybody has a favourite sandwich. Even bands…
This feature was actually inspired by Liam Cormier. Due to our frequent interviews with Cancer Bats, Liam always takes the piss out of us and reckons we just ask him about his favourite sandwich. If you can’t beat ’em…
Hello there, Liam Cormier from Cancer Bats. Tell us all about your favourite sandwich.
Bread: Multigrain sub. Toasted.
Salad: Spinach, red pepper, maybe a tomato.
Condiments: Pesto, maybe some mayonnaise.
What’s so good about it?
“Obviously, I’m a veggie so I’m gonna rock the veggie sub hard. This is if I’m at home. I’ll see if I can get a good multigrain and then add spinach, a red pepper, some halloumi cheese, maybe a bit of pesto and toast the bread. Throw some tomatoes in the mix, sure, and maybe some sprouts.”
You mean beansprouts, right? Not Brussels sprouts.
“Maybe dice some Brussels sprouts. The flavour combination is great and then you put on a DVD and hang out and eat your big sandwich.”
How do you feel about inspiring a new feature on Thrash Hits?
“I’m pretty excited because it’s ball busting evolving into something more positive.”
We were going to base this feature around how musicians take their bacon sandwich but were sensitive to veggie needs. Even veggies love bacon, don’t they?
“I don’t. I don’t love bacon.”
Metal rating? 6/6 because it’s Liam and LOOK AT THAT GIF.
