The Defiled want you to watch them record a live album (if you’ll bung them some cash via PledgeMusic)

We’ve been banging on about how good The Defiled are since before Thrash Hits even existed (as the poor, unfortunate souls we drink with and have to listen to our band-espousing can attest). We wish they’d hurry up and start work on the follow-up to their killer debut long-player, Grave Times, but right now they’re keeping themselves busy with a load of other projects – including the recording of a new live album. A new live album that they want you to help them with.

The Defiled have set up a PledgeMusic page where you can chuck them various amounts of money for ever-increasingly impressive rewards. For example, if you chuck them £8, you’ll get a digital copy of the album when it’s done, but if you’re willing to shell out £850, the entire band will come to your house and play a gig for you. There are plenty of price packages in between those two amounts for you to buy – including the opportunity to go watch the live album being recorded – go check out The Defiled’s official PledgeMusic page for more details. The band will be offering exclusive updates to all their pledgers throughout their campaign, as well as donating 10% of the final total to the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The Defiled have also got a shitload of shows on the horizon – starting with a set on the Pepsi Max stage at Download Festival this coming Friday. The clash with Billy Talent and Little Angels so really it’s an easy choice to make to go see them. We’re going to be talking bollocks with them backstage again, and we can only hope they’re half as…”merry” as they were at Sonisphere last year.

After Download Festival is out of the way, the boys have got a one-off support slot with Godsmack in London, then they’re taking a little bit of a break from touring before going back out on the road at the end of September as part of DragonForce’s first full UK tour with their new frontman, Marc Hudson.
