Last weekend Kerouac played their final show ever. It was one of the best shows we can remember going to. We told you as much when we reviewed it. Now, statistically you probably weren’t there, but you can still make sure you show your appreciation for one of the best bands that’s broken up this year by buying their entire discography on sweet, sexy vinyl.
Holy Roar and Tangled Talk have teamed up to produced the 12″ collection of everything Kerouac ever recorded. That includes their album, Cold and Distant, Not Loving, as well as their tracks from the splits they did with Pariso and The Long Haul. Even better, it has two, previously unreleased demo versions of two tracks from Cold and Distant, Not Loving, as well as some super-rare live tracks. Oh yes.
Heavy Hearted: Collected Recordings 2009-2011 is available to pre-order now from both Holy Roar and Tangled Talk, in clear, white and standard black vinyl. You better hurry up if you want the super-exclusive clear vinyl version – Holy Roar have already sold out of that. There are also digital download-only and T-shirt bundles you can buy of both, but let’s face facts: it’s the vinyl you want, isn’t it? It’s got four unlisted live versions on, whereas the digital version just has The Lion And The Wolf’s acoustic cover of ‘Lay Of The Landfill’ and Blak Nite’s remix of ‘Our Father’s Guns’. In any event, if you buy the vinyl version, both Holy Road and Tangled Talk are throwing in a copy of the digital-download version of Heavy Hearted for free and for you to download immediately. Don’t sleep on this purchase, guys – when these 12″s are gone, they’re gone for good.
