Another FREE show this week – this time it’s Sacred Mother Tongue

This week is turning out to be quite a good one as far as free metal shows go – at least if you happen to live in London. Not only have we got Evile’s charity show in aid of the British Lung Foundation at the OBL tomorrow, but Sacred Mother Tongue are also putting on a free show at the Intrepid Fox on Thursday. Get in!

Sacred Mother Tongue have been bubbling under the UK metal scene’s wider radar for a couple of years now, but haven’t quite broken through just yet. They signed to EMI back in May though, so perhaps with a bit of major label muscle behind them, the band’s as-yet-untitled second album might be the album that gives them the push they need.

It’s through EMI that the band are releasing their A Light Shines… EP in September. Ostensibly that’s why they’re playing this show – to showcase some of their new songs. Check out the flyer below for the details:

The only real taste of this new material we’ve had from SMT so far is via the lyric-video (which are now very much a thing, aren’t they?) for ‘Seven’. It’s also got some girl-on-girl axe murder, which is, y’know, given the subject matter is probably something we should’ve described without using a sexually-loaded turn of phrase like “girl-on-girl”. Oh well:
