Sunday Slaylist: Warped Tour UK 2012 Endurance Test

Vans Warped Tour UK first promo pic Thrash Hits

Yesterday the Vans Warped Tour made its first return to London since 1999. We didn’t go. We do know some people who did go, and their reactions on Twitter ranged from “Oh my God! Onesies everywhere!” to “Lasted just an hour at Warped”. We know that (some) of us here at Thrash Hits have a reputation as being surly No Fun Club-types, but by gosh, did we not see this as a challenge to make a listenable Sunday Spotify Slaylist about it.

Oh God, did we try.

Okay, okay, perhaps we’re being a touch unfair. We’re just too old and into bands with too much beard and too many worries about existential ennui and mortal depression to get the bounce-bounce-dayglo-forced-fun vibe that the modern Warped Tour seems to have mutated into. Anyway, with that in mind, who reckons they can make it through the entire of this week’s Warped Tour UK-themed Sunday Slylist in one sitting?* We’ve got a song from every single band on the bill that’s on Spotify, and we’ve book-ended it with tracks from lostprophets and Bring Me The Horizon, the “heavy hitters” from Warped Tour UK 2012’s line-up.

Spotify is available to most of Western Europe, the USA, Australia and New Zealand for free – though obviously you’re better off shelling out either £5 or £10 a month for one of Spotify’s premium packages, as then you can listen to our Slaylists without having them interrupted by adverts. For our readers in countries not currently serviced by Spotify….sorry. Actually, given the “quality” of the bands featured in this week’s Slaylist, we’re not sure if we’re sorry at all. Maybe you should be thanking us?

*There’s no prize for getting to the end, you’ll merely gain our grudging respect, and a not too significant amount of pity.
